About Bioma Learn

Bioma Learn is a free, open nutrition knowledge base. It reports what is in foods from USDA data and what the randomized trials actually found, with the source and the strength of evidence next to every claim.

Who is behind it

Bioma Learn is published by Humblebee Solutions Limited, a company registered in Cyprus (company number HE 449911, Limassol). Humblebee also makes Bioma, an iPhone app for tracking protein, macros and micronutrients, which is in App Store review. You can read about the company at humblebee.ltd.

How we are funded, and what we do not do

The site is paid for by Humblebee as part of building the Bioma app. We take no money from food, drink or supplement companies. We carry no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links, and nothing on this site is for sale. The app is our only commercial interest, and no page here is written to sell it.

Not the Bioma probiotic

Bioma Learn and the Bioma app have no connection to the Bioma probiotic supplement sold at bioma.health, or to any other supplement brand.

How the pages are made

The pages are produced by an editorial system of AI agents, each with one job: one finds sources and records them as evidence cards, one writes, one reviews for harm, and a separate check re-opens the sources and blocks anything that does not match. Every claim is tied to a primary source such as USDA FoodData Central, an FDA regulation or a PubMed record. No named clinician has reviewed the pages, and we do not present any page as if one had. The full process, including what we cannot yet check automatically, is on our methodology page.

Insights and data for journalists

Our Insights are short data stories built from our evidence reviews. Each one publishes its full table under CC BY 4.0, so you can reuse the data with credit to "Bioma" and a link to the insight or to biomanutrient.app. For any item in a table we can send the underlying evidence review and answer questions about the method.

Corrections

If you think something here is wrong, write to us. We re-open the source rather than defend the sentence. When a page changes because of a correction, the page says what changed and when.
